Brewery Barak was founded in March 2022 by three young entrepreneurs from ‘t Kamp: Michaël Bynens, Jorn Vankrunkelsven, and Bjorn Ruysen. The passion for beer had always been present among the three brewers, but in recent years, the urge to brew their own beer grew stronger. For now, they brew on a small scale, with batches in 150-liter kettles.
The name ‘Barak’ is derived from the army barracks well-known from the military base, clearly inspired by the garrison town of Leopoldsburg (‘t Kamp).
